What We Offer
Micro Business Showcase
We believe that we have strength in the community. Therefore, we are offering women a platform where they can sell goods and services as well as learn from each other’s expertise and experiences.
Programs and
Cultural Events
Pre-COVID 19, we offered art exhibits, storytelling slams, book signings, and face-to-face workshops (including job readiness, self-empowerment, personal and professional communication, repurposing/recycling and other important topics) to numerous individuals, civic groups, and Community Based Organizations at NWC Thrift & Vintage/Community Engagement Center.
We plan to continue these events virtually and in person at various locations.
Professional Development
Workshops Work preparedness and Entrepreneurial skills development are the foundations of NWC’s programs. Workshops are designed to develop self-confidence, self-motivation, creativity, and the intellectual capacity to engage in entrepreneurial efforts.
Our most popular workshops include: how to start a microbusiness, business basics, office etiquette, resume writing, sustainability through re-purposing, interviewing skills, motivation and empowerment, basic computing, effective communication skills, and financial literacy.
The NWC Mentorship program provides mentors for participants in our workshops.
